History Of Disneyland

Disneyland Theme Park, the first of many, is located in Anaheim, California. The Walt Disney Company, led by Walt Disney himself, opened the park July 17, 1955. A Construction began in 1954 and the completed park was unveiled on a special televised press event on the ABC Television Network. Walt Disney came up with the concept after visiting several amusement parks in the 30’s and 40’s. He initially envisioned building a tourist attraction next to his studios in Burbank, but realized it would be too small. So, he bought 160 acres of land near Anaheim, California and built the happiest place on earth.
