Space Mountain is a space-themed indoor steel
roller coaster in Tomorrowland. It opened on May 27, 1977 and is one of the
most popular attractions at Disneyland. Walt Disney originally conceived this
idea after the success of the ride, Matterhorn Bobsleds, which opened about 20
years before Space Mountain. The voyage begins with entering the vehicles on a
realistic launch port. The ride begins with being launched through a tunnel, then
into space where stars are all around and passengers face meteors. Space
Mountain is an attraction I always go back to. It is worth the wait because it
is a thrill ride that makes you feel like you are in space. There are so many
twists and sharp turns, which is what makes this such a fun ride.
